Arky

In January 2008 HIS SKY Ministries also acquired the 240,000 cubic foot Arky Hot Air Balloon from Merritt Ministries.

Arky was built in 1994 by Areostar International in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It was first owned and flown for the benefit of a Children’s Home in Centralia, Illinois. This massive balloon measures 110' long, 85' tall and 55' feet wide.

Merritt Ministry acquired the Arky balloon in 1998. Bill Woodhead, HIS SKY Ministries Chief Pilot, has flown the ARKY Balloon since 1999 as a contract pilot for Merritt Ministry.
